As
part of this project I interviewed some of the travelling public on
Wessex Trains to find out more about the issue of luggage and what
things are chosen to be part of our journey and why. The results were
sometimes predictable and often surprising. I would like to thank
all those that took part in my survey.
To
develop thgis idea and as a way of finding out what objects people
may choose to travel with I asked a selection of people to pack a
bag for an actual journey and write a short statement to accompany
their selection of items. I was not awrae of the contents of the bags
until they were x-rayed for me at the Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
The resulting images with the help of Ingrid Hesling, are proof of
the mystery surrounding other people's personal possessions, their
'things', and the fascination that we have with needing to find out
about them.
