Long
Skeleton Leaf Dress
This dress stared life as an exploration around the idea of aging,
thinking about the texture, colour and qualities of skin as they aged.
It was made with skeleton leaves, tulle net and tissue paper and finally,
the whole dress was burnt with a wood burning tool in patterns to
emphasis the delicacy and fragility of the ageing process.
As
time went by the piece was added to, made much fuller around the skirt,
so that it is nearly circular and the leaves were collaged around
the base.
This
piece featured in Gardens Illustrated in October Issue 2000.
